Alison Waldrom (visiting 'The Learning Connexion' Student) wets the sponge with the fountain solution, to wet the plate, to roll the ink. This is done a number of times so the ink is saturated on the plate and produces a good print.
Alf and his son Grant Williams visit to look over the printery. They are visiting from Papakura with their vintage cars. Both cars are on display in the Feilding Square. Alf spent most of his working life as a printer for Coulls Sommerville and Wilkie. He had a number of interesting tales to tell. including the fact that some people were selling vintage car weetbix cards and he had actually printed those many years ago in Christchurch!
