Isabelle Veilleux from Quebec, Canada.

Isabelle Veilleux came as a WWOOFer but as she is a fabric artist from Quebec became an 'artist in residence'. Isabelle is having a look at some of our 'artist books' while sharing a special food treat from her home town. Lemon cake. Very nice!       www.macour.wordpress.com

Our first crop of 4 huge apples from the 'Montys Surprise'. This fruit fell off the little tree in the wind and it weighed in at 565 gms or 1lb 4oz. According to the supplier this apple was discovered up the Whanganui River and is estimated to be 100 years old and has been tested to be 4 times more beneficial than the next best apple in regard to its anti cancer properties.(Quercetin glycosides)

Alex and Elie WWOOFers from France

A fine first fish for Elie. I took Alex and Elie out to our favourite fishing spot and much to the excitement of Elie and Alex, Elie hooked up and reeled in a large Kahawai.
We took it home and after the photograph I showed them how to remove the fillets and smoke the backbone. The fish was so nice. We enjoyed 2 full meals for the 4 of us from just that one fish!

Steve and Kelly, American WWOOFers

John made this gluten free loaf of bread in the Bread maker.
Steve was trying a gluten free diet as he had been suffering stomach pains after eating a meal and gluten intolerance runs in his family. This bread was given 10 out of 10 by Steve who thought it was the best he had ever tasted! I would take the credit if only the 'Panasonic Bread Maker' baked the bread and I only followed the recipe on the bag of flour.

Steve and Kelly, American WWOOFers

Allison teaches Kelly and Steve how to make sushi, assemble chicken and fresh vegetables onto a cooked rice base, then roll with the help of seaweed wrapper on a bamboo place mat. Cut into 6 bit sized pieces, dip into sauces and eat! Yum.

Tim glueing his book in the Brebner Cottage

Tim has his 31 pages and the covers laid out on the 3.8 metre wooden table in the Brebner Cottage. Using CVA bookbinding glue, 2/1 with water, glueing the tissue paper onto the spine and fore edge of the pages to make the concertina book. One book, laid out, took the whole table.
