Boris, graphic designer from switzerland.

It is pretty special to have such a lovely original birthday card created by a gifted graphic designer from Switzerland. Boris and Corinne have been with us a week and live in the flat of the Homeprint Book Art Studio.

Leo Brebner

I will place a dot here! and here and here. You can paint some too Allison!

Leo Brebner

I am interested to watch Leo painting the colour onto the woodtype with the brush in his left hand. He uses deliberate strokes from front to back. Then stamps 2 or 3 times.

Leo Brebner

Leo paints the colour on the woodtype with a paint brush then presses it on to his painting.
Here he is stamping the upper case 'A'.

Leo dips the roller in the acrylic paint and carefully rolls it on to his page.

The Homeprint Library is a serious workroom. Monica is checking the level of the Michael Smither lino carving as part of the collection of Smither works for sale in this room. Under the paintings and screenprints, drawings, relief prints, lino prints there is a significant library of books. The library is made up of Artist books from around the world, letterpress manuals, type catalogues, printmaking, art, old, poetry and a few coffee table books for reference. In this room I have a set of 2 x 5 AO mapping draws which also acts as my cutting table for picture framing.

Taupo Teachers hit Homeprint

Sally Davies with her mountain print. Sally organised a weekend for herself and 2 other talented, enthusiastic artists to have 'hands on' printmaking at homeprint. The accommodation was with the Hopkins at Raceway Motels, Awahuri Road, Feilding. Beautiful rooms, great service and a reasonable price!

Homeprint New UV Lightbox 'Sunstrike'

Wow! This is the first test solarplate from my new prototype UV light box. It looks as though 3 minutes will be about the standard time for a relief solarplate using the negative transparency.
The relief print from the solarplate is crisp and clean with the guides of time indicating the exposure with the best results.
